{you can also do this with vegetables and dip - place a tablespoon of dip in the bottom of a clear plastic cup and add carrot sticks, celery sticks, cucumber wedges, and colorful bell peppers (sticking vertically out of the cup) - when guests pull the veggies out of the cup, they will each have the perfect amount of dip on the end of each one!}

Cream Cheese Ham Roll-Ups Baby Shower Appetizer
by Sandra (Seattle, WA)
I just had these at a Christmas party last night and thought they would be perfect for a baby shower appetizer too!
All you do is take some thin lunch meat ham slices and spread cream cheese on one side. Place a sliced dill pickle (length wise) down the middle and roll up. You can also add chopped green onions or use pickled asparagus instead of pickles. These are delicious and people ate them right up!

Pickle Roll Ups
by: diane
I love this baby shower recipe! I take wheat or white bread, cut the crust off, and flatten with small rolling pin. Then add creme cheese mixed with ranch dry dressing and spread on bread.
Add a dill pickle (dry it off a little)
Roll starting at the small end.
Let sit in refrigerator for an hour and cut in 1/4 or 1/2 inch rounds - they are so great!
Cream Cheese, Ham Slices And Green Olives
by: Twotam
There seems to be many variations for "frosting" a ham slice with cream cheese.
I put a row of green olives across the short side of the ham slice , (olives are stuffed with pimentos) and roll it up and stick a toothpick through each olive (they make a hump easy to see).
Then I slice between each olive and serve on a platter. It is neat because your fingers stay clean using your own serving toothpick.
Yummy Cream Cheese Baby Shower Appetizers
by: D.Hall
We make these for every holiday - but not w/ pickles. we used green onions. and its best if the cream cheese is room temperature, so it spreads easy and doesn't tear the ham. (herbed cream cheese is delish too!)

The following cute baby shower appetizers and ideas were submitted by one of our readers, Andrea:
Fancy Rice Krispy Treat Rattles: Make the usual recipe on box, but when melting the marshmallows and butter, add 2 tablespoons of white corn syrup (this makes the treats stay more pliable when forming them).
After the treats are made, form a tennis ball sized ball, and a golf ball sized ball, put on waxed paper.
When you have formed all the balls, stick a long candy sucker stick through one end of the large ball and one end in the smaller ball.
To finish off, I use one of the pre-made bows that you can adjust to size on things for the middle, or you can simply tie some ribbon around the middle.
Baby Themed Cheeses: (these make the cutest baby shower appetizers!)
I use miniature-sized cookie cutters in the theme of the shower (teddy bears, bottles, rattles, etc.) to cut out different cheeses.
Simply slice the cheese no thicker than the cutter, and press cutter down, instant cuteness! Arrange on a platter for added elegance.
Colorful Watermelon Carriage:
Make a cut on your watermelon from the middle of the top, down to the middle of the watermelon, then stop.
Make second cut from the middle of the side of melon, to the middle of the melon, remove this piece.
Hollow out watermelon carefully as you'll want to be able to still serve the pieces.
Fill the watermelon with the in-season fruits. Add wheels to your carriage with slices of oranges and pins that have the pearl on the end, such as you use for pinning on corsages.
For the expert carvers, before adding the fruit, you can take a small knife and carve scallops to the edges of your carriage.
Add a ribbon bow on top for the final touch and you have a very cute centerpiece!
