A reader sent in this question the other day: "Do you have any affordable ideas for baby shower favors and prizes that guests will not just throw away when they get home?"
So I thought I would put together several quick and easy ideas for making some adorable prizes for baby shower games / or baby shower favors.
And ... it gave me an excuse to go shopping! I headed out to the dollar store, WalMart and Marshalls, to see what kind of affordable creations I could come up with.
For a simple prize idea, bundle up a cute Rae Dunn mug and tuck a handy Rae Dunn notepad into it. Prize winners will love it!
I found these at Marshalls for a total of $9 - not bad for a stylish baby shower prize.
My go-to prize or small gift ideas include:
These little bottles are from The Dollar Tree. I must admit, I have never really been a big dollar store shopper, but we just had a store open 1 mile from our house, so I went in - and it is actually pretty amazing!
They have cool gift boxes, party supplies, crafts, fun school stuff for kids, storage bins (I love bins!)
Anyways, I found these cute bottles, shower mints and jute/twine. All you do is pour some mints into each bottle, tie with the twine ... and viola! Adorable little baby shower favors for under $2 a piece!
And don't forget to tie a cute baby shower favor tag to each one. You can see a bunch of tags I designed, here.
This is a little more costly so it probably fits into the baby shower prize category, instead of giving them away to each guest as favors.
I found the mug at the dollar store - they had several cute colors. The pink shred is from the dollar store as well. The nail file, nail polish, gum, face mask and chapstick are all from WalMart.
The total came to around $7. Not bad for a prize for a baby shower game.
I saw these PINK raspberry Coke's at the store the other day and knew they would be perfect as favors for a "She's About To POP" themed baby shower.
If you can't find colored Coke's - you can always buy IZZE soda, which is so cute and delicious.
This baby shower favor idea cost around $4.50. The eos lipbalm and face mask are both from WalMart.
The ribbon is from the dollar store - although you really don't get much ribbon on a roll - so it may be more cost-effective to get it from WalMart or a craft store.
This was all from WalMart (except the twine.) I bought the gum in a 3 pack for $2 something, so the total cost of the entire favor/prize is around $3 - which is great!
Add a cute favor tag to make extra cute! Here are some FREE tags I designed. Click on the picture to hop over to see all of the baby shower favor tags.
This candle cost $3 at WalMart and the scented warmer wax was $2. I just peeled off the sticker on the candle to make it look better.
You could also print off some baby shower labels with the shower info on them and stick them onto the candle. Or buy some cute baby-themed stickers and stick them on.
Here is another version of a cute baby shower prize idea. (I recommend using double-sided tape so that everything stays in one place and doesn't slide out.)
You can also create a prize station, such as a mini ladder, where you display an assortment of baby shower prizes and let guests pick the one they want.
This is one of my favorites! All you do is buy a cute tea light holder - this was from The Dollar Tree, and then buy a package of tea lights. Add a cute favor tag and you're all set - for around $2 tops.
Grab these printable tea light favor poem - baby shower favor tags. You can find them for FREE over at my printable shop.

This wine glass favor idea goes along with the rest of the ideas - I didn't create this one - but when I saw it, I thought it was adorable - and knew I must share it with you!
I love the bright colors used and how cute and stylish it looks!

I hope you enjoyed these simple ideas for baby shower favors and prizes. It was sure fun creating them for you! My daughters are happy too - they got to keep all of the lip balm, gum, face masks, etc. - after I was done taking photos of them all!
"Creating my baby registry used to feel so overwhelming — there are so many choices, and I wasn’t sure where to start. But Amazon’s Baby Registry made everything so easy! I loved that I could add items from any website, and the universal registry feature made it super simple. Plus, the completion discount was a lifesaver for those last-minute additions. It was so reassuring knowing that I could return items if needed. It really took the stress out of the whole process! - And you get a New Baby Welcome Box, which was amazing!" - Lynn, new mom from Atlanta
